QUALIFICATIONS:
\n(1) Bachelor\u2019s Degree from an accredited educational institution, or verified work experience
\nas defined and accepted by the State of Florida.
\n(2) Certified according to the rules and regulations of the State of Florida in the appropriate
\nsubject area.<\/p>\n
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
\nKnowledge of child development and especially of characteristics of children in the age group
\nassigned. Knowledge of the prescribed curriculum. Knowledge of current educational research.
\nBasic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology. Knowledge of varied learning
\nstyles and skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning styles. Skill in oral
\nand written communication with students, parents, and others. Ability to plan and implement
\nactivities for maximum effectiveness. Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement,
\nanalyze test results, and prescribe actions for improvement. Ability to maintain appropriate
\nstudent supervision so that students have a safe and orderly environment in which to learn. Ability
\nto work effectively with students, peers, administrators, parents, and others. Ability to
\ndemonstrate specific vocational skills being taught.<\/p>\n

\nTo provide an educational atmosphere in which students will move toward the
\nfulfillment of their potential for intellectual, physical, emotional, and psychological
\ngrowth and will be prepared for employment and advanced training in the vocational
\nareas being taught.<\/p>\n

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
\n* (1) Plan and effectively implement instructional activities designed to achieve goals and
\nobjectives of the curriculum.
\n* (2) Provide a safe, supportive environment that stimulates academic, moral, and social
\ngrowth.
\n* (3) Meet with and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
\n* (4) Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral form with students, parents,
\nand others.
\n* (5) Provide specific instruction on the safe use of tools and equipment and health and safety
\nprecautions to be followed.
\n* (6) Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials,
\nand facilities.
\n* (7) Evaluate student progress on a regular basis to include academic and social growth of
\nstudents.<\/p>\n

\n* (8) Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and
\nadministrative regulations.
\n* (9) Assist in enforcement of school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
\n*(10) Implement a variety of instructional techniques to meet varying learning styles of students.
\n*(11) Assist students in learning to accept responsibility, demonstrate respect for people and
\nproperty, and demonstrate self-discipline.
\n*(12) Promote and assist in student participation in official student organizations that are
\nrecognized as a vital part of the vocational program.
\n*(13) Provide students with the latest research on careers in the vocational area being taught.
\n*(14) Identify business partners and coordinate activities with business partners designed to
\nmeet curricular objectives.
\n*(15) Travel as needed to meet curricular objectives.
\n(16) Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.<\/p>\n
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
\nHeavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 50 pounds of force
\nfrequently and\/or up to 20 pounds of force as needed to move objects.<\/p>\n
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
\nSalary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District\u2019s approved compensation plan.
\nLength of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.<\/p>\n
EVALUATION:
\nPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board\u2019s policy on
\nevaluation of personnel.
