Privacy Policy Updates
AEST reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. The User should review this Privacy Policy frequently. If AEST makes material changes to this policy, AEST may notify the User on AEST’s website, by email, or by any method AEST determines. The method that AEST chooses is at AEST’s sole discretion. AEST will also change the “Last Updated” date on this Privacy Policy. Any changes AEST makes to our Privacy Policy are effective as of this Last Updated date and replace any prior Privacy Policies. After AEST publishes changes to these conditions the User’s use of this site thereafter means the User accepts the revised conditions.
Student Data Integrity & Student Information Release Authorization Form
AEST understands the importance of protecting children’s privacy online. AEST is committed to following Family Educational Right and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) and Children Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) (15 U.S.C § 6501), which are Federal laws to protect personal information of under 13 Users. AEST will collect personal data outlined below. It is not AEST’s policy to use personal information to engage Users in any targeted advertising. Personal data should be relevant to the purposes for which it is used, and, to the extent necessary for those purposes, should be accurate, complete, and up-to-date. The User may contact AEST to review his/her own personal information and correct erroneous information.
AEST only collects:
- First and last name
- Mailing address, city, state, and zip
- Date of birth
- Email address
- The institution in which the user is enrolled
AEST does not share information with outside entities. School districts may record earned industry certifications on the User’s school transcript.
It is the User’s responsibility to protect his/her personal data and maintain the confidentiality of his/her user information and password. The User is responsible to immediately notify AEST of any unauthorized use of his/her account, breach of his/her account information or password. AEST will not be liable for any loss that the User may incur as a result of someone else using the User’s username or password, either with or without his/her knowledge.
A Student Information Release Authorization Form is available for the school district’s use to maintain on file for the validity of the certification (5 years). It is the recommendation that the teacher, who is sitting the User for the exam, maintain on file the necessary form.
