The nation’s animal health and biodefense facilities have partnered up to find new ways to improve early detection of animal diseases before they become an issue in our nation’s agricultural industry. “We are going to identify five scientists and place them in five of our NAHLN laboratories around the country with the intent of them to take their region, look at the threats both nationally and internationally,” said Christy Loiacano, coordinator of the National Animal Health Laboratory network, with the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.
