Job Description:
The Florida Forestry Association is a statewide trade association representing those who grow,
harvest and process Florida’s forests and forest products. Our mission is to promote the responsible
and sustainable use of Florida’s forest resources. Through advocacy, communication and education,
the Association strives to foster regulatory, economic, and social climates that allow the forest
community to prosper.
The Association is seeking a highly motivated professional to monitor, manage and coordinate the
Association’s involvement in regulatory and environmental policy issues as they relate to the practice
of silviculture in Florida. The position also serves as the facilitator of Florida Master Logger training
program, which is designed to increase awareness and ensure compliance with forestry Best
Management Practices. In addition, the employee in this position provides staff support to various
committees within the Association and serves on committees and workgroups outside the
organization.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry or related field.
* A minimum of 5 years of full-time forestry related experience.
* Familiarity with computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strategic and analytical mindset; seeks innovative solutions to complex challenges
* Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
Moderate in-state travel is required.
