The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include:
- Responsibilities of this position are to plan and direct the day-to-day activities of ACP Specialist within their span of control.
- Conducts emergency preparedness, emergency management and emergency response involving animal related issues.
- Position will take active role within the division incident management team during emergency response activities.
- Responsible for ensuring direct reports fully understand emergency response goals and objectives to effectively conduct animal disease surveillance, emergency response and eradication methods to preserve Florida’s animal agriculture industry.
- Participates in recruitment, selection, training and development of field staff.
- Establishes and maintains proper biosecurity protocols during the animal disease response.
- Coordinates regulatory activities with other bureaus within the division, other divisions within the department and with United States Department of Agriculture/Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service/Veterinary Services (USDA/APHIS/VS). Coordinates workload and activities with the supervising veterinary medical officer.
- Residential requirements for this position are the following: (Polk) county.
- Depending on the county of residence, headquarters will be located at:
